The number of people killed by drivers running red lights has hit a 10-year high, according to AAA, with a 30 percent increase from 10 years ago. The reason for the uptick may surprise you. While distracted driving and incorrectly timed traffic lights plays a role, many crashes are the result of drivers intentionally speeding and breaking the law by running red lights.
